Low intestinal inflammation model (HP48) in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and inflammatory mitigation by Bactocell

چکیده

Moderate levels of intestinal damage and inflammation are often seen in intensive fish aquaculture. The causes may be due to antinutrients from plant meals, stress or other causes. There is currently a lack good models explore these effects so how mitigate the consequences. Most studies have used full-fat soy compounds that cause likely not reversible. In this study we explored possibility using soybean HP48, made solvent extracted peeled soybeans, as low-inflammation model post-smolt Atlantic salmon, then investigated whether supplementation probiotic Pediococcus acidilactici CNCM I-4622 – MA 18/5 M (Bactocell) could diminish effect. were fed triplicate diets. A Control diet containing 18.08% protein concentrate (SPC), HP48 where most SPC was replaced by (5.00% 17.68% HP48), Bactocell identical but contained 0.03% Bactocell. After 10 weeks feeding, mid- hind-intestinal health assessed histology, integrity (Ussing chamber) gene expression (RNAseq). Transcriptomic data suggests led disturbed mid-intestinal homeostasis with impaired cellular increased cell turnover. transcriptomic reversed including downregulation immune genes upregulation transmembrane proteins such type IV collagen, which important restoring epithelial homeostasis. hind-intestine, deleterious morphological changes widening lamina propria stratum granulosum, disrupted mucosal folds, loss absorptive vacuoles, several regulated involved solute- water transport. Ussing chamber affected. did alleviate effects. However, it able completely reverse immune- transport related genes, suggesting higher effect supplement mid-intestine compared hind-intestine. This demonstrates level here sufficient create low-level within range for functional feed ingredients reverse.

Atlantic salmon – Salmo salar

Distribution Th e species’ range encompasses Europe, North America, and Green land (1) (Fig.1). Non-anadromous forms occur in Europe in a few land-locked locations in Norway and Sweden, and throughout the Neva/Lake Ladoga system and Karelia regions of Russia. In North America non-anadromous forms occurred throughout most of the species’ historical range, as far west as Lake Ontario, and remain ...

Candida utilis and Chlorella vulgaris Counteract Intestinal Inflammation in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar L.)

Intestinal inflammation, caused by impaired intestinal homeostasis, is a serious condition in both animals and humans. The use of conventional extracted soybean meal (SBM) in diets for Atlantic salmon and several other fish species is known to induce enteropathy in the distal intestine, a condition often referred to as SBM induced enteropathy (SBMIE). In the present study, we investigated the p...

Immunoglobulin Isotypes in Atlantic Salmon, Salmo Salar

There are three major immunoglobulin (Ig) isotypes in salmonid fish: IgM, IgD and IgT, defined by the heavy chains μ, δ and τ, respectively. As a result of whole genome duplication in the ancestor of the salmonid fish family, Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) possess two highly similar Ig heavy chain gene complexes (A and B), comprising two μ genes, two δ genes, three intact τ genes and five τ pseu...

Lysozyme transgenic Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.)

Disease outbreaks are a major constraint to salmon aquaculture worldwide. Therefore, there is considerable interest in ¢nding means to alleviate this problem by enhancing their innate immune system. Because lysozyme is an important component of this system, we generated a line of transgenic Atlantic salmon using a gene construct consisting of a rainbow trout lysozyme gene under the control of t...
